HAVE YOUR SAY ON PLANS BY LEEDS CITY COLLEGE FOR A NEW MABGATE CAMPUS

Leeds City College is proposing to build a new college campus at Mabgate, which will deliver high quality facilities, office space for staff, and residential properties on a site which has been underutilised for some time. This project will regenerate the site and the wider Mabgate area, acting as a catalyst for further investment in this part of Leeds.

Leeds City College, part of the Luminate Education Group, is delivering this project despite the challenges of the COVID-19 impact on the economy because we are committed to improving access to further and higher education options for young people in Leeds. This is against a backdrop of an unprecedented demand for Leeds City College’s services. An outline planning application has been submitted to Leeds City Council, which will establish the principle of redeveloping this site for a new college campus.

Key information

The current community engagement exercise runs from Thursday 20th August 2020 to Sunday 13th September 2020. Once this period ends, the Mabgate Campus design team will use the information gathered to influence the detailed designs that come forward in the future. All participants that have signed-up for or opted-in to updates will be contacted when the detailed designs are published and be given the opportunity to have their say on the proposals.

OUTLINE PLANNING APPLICATION SUBMITTEDAugust 2020

Leeds City College has submitted an outline planning application to Leeds City Council, to establish the principle of redeveloping the Mabgate site for a new college campus.

INITIAL ENGAGEMENTAugust 2020 to September 2020

The local community and stakeholders are invited to find out more about the project, submit their initial feedback and sign-up for updates as the project progresses to the detailed design stage.

CONSULTATION ON DETAILED DESIGNSFollowing the outline planning application and this initial engagement exercise, we intend to consult the local community and stakeholders on detailed designs for Mabgate Campus in early 2021.
